It wasn't long after I awoke from a cool pleasant dream of becoming a product designer. This wasn't a new thing for me since my first invention was at the tender age of twenty-three. It came to me in a dream after struggling with the fact all my dishes in the dish drainer were sitting there staring at me. It was all I could do but worry if my husband was going to come home from work and crab at me for not putting them away. I didn't. Falling asleep seemed too good to pass up. When it came to me, I wrote down all the measurements, design proportion, and drew the most sophisticated draft anyone could do with human hands.
Two weeks fly past and the draft to the design concept was nestled between two newspapers and a Vogue magazine, sitting on the living room coffee table waiting for disaster to strike at any spill. A delightful commercial came on the T.V. As if they were talking directly to me. “Have an invention”? “Don't wait call now”. To my amazement I looked in the local Yellowpages to find a potential investor to help aid in my current project, which so happened to be right down the road. The older woman who heard every word that came from my mouth gave me some encourage advice before exiting the office. “You didn't reach our requirements, but you have a lovely idea”. “Stay positive and keep pursuing your dreams”. She said as we were still shaking hands.
What a relief the times have changed and we've come a long way from the old days of hardship inventing woes to upscale crowdfunding resources. No matter how long you have been inventing or creating new innovative ideas, never let obstacles keep you from dreaming. From dreams, reality takes shape and shape turns into goals. Keep looking forward, there is a new day for creative adventure! Now let's begin building the blocks to the future of crowfunding.
I long so much to make beautiful things. But beautiful things require effort and disappointment and perseverance.
